Bridge City is named for the crossing, and the crossing shapes the work. TX-87 traffic between Orange County and Port Arthur goes over the Neches on the Veterans Memorial Bridge, with the old Rainbow Bridge alongside it. Both are long, high approaches with a sustained climb and nowhere sensible to stop.
A truck that loses a tire or overheats on a bridge approach is a lane closure, not a shoulder call. Our advice here never changes: if it will still roll, get off the span before you stop, and tell dispatch which side you came down on so we meet you rather than pass you.
The town sits low between the river and the marsh, and it is a hurricane evacuation route. During an evacuation TX-87 and TX-73 reverse in character entirely — bumper to bumper, no shoulder access, and a breakdown that blocks everybody behind it.

Bridge City sits inside our regular coverage. These are the towns either side of it.
About an hour on average across our coverage. That is an average and not a promise: what it means on the day depends on where the nearest truck is when you call, so dispatch will tell you what they can actually commit to before you decide to wait for us.
If the truck will still roll, come off the span before you stop — the approaches have no usable shoulder and you are in a live lane. Tell dispatch which side you came down on. If it will not roll, stay in the cab with the hazards on and let us and DPS handle the lane.
We answer 24/7, including holidays. During an evacuation the highways reverse in character and access is the limiting factor, not willingness. Call and we will tell you honestly what we can reach.
